Extreme Web Reports
Extreme Web Reports is the most powerful web based reporting tool available for dynamically generating MS Access based reports via a standard web browser.
Extreme Web Reports includes an easy to use wizard which makes it very easy to integrate web reporting into new and existing web pages or applications. The wizard scans the specified MS Access database and records information such as report names, parameters and sub queries. Nothing is written to the database itself. How Does It Work? The 'Extreme Web Reports' Wizard collects the reports in a specified database, presents the list of reports via a web interface, and allows users to dynamically run the reports using a standard web browser. Here's how it works: Select a Database When 'Extreme Web Reports' is started, the wizard asks you to select an existing Microsoft Access database located on your harddrive or on the network. Create a Virtual Directory A virtual directory is required to allow users to connect to the Access database via a web browser. The wizard will search for a virtual directory that is already pointing to the database, if not found, a new virtual directory can be created. Integrate with an Existing Application If you wish to integrate 'Extreme Web Reports' into an existing web application, the wizard will copy all required files to a sub folder within your application. Extreme Web Reports can be easily distributed as part of your application. Collect Reports and Parameters The wizard will record the names of the reports contained within the specified database. It will also collect information such as parameter names and types. This information is stored in a database named 'Report Server.ewr'. Nothing is written to the specified MS Access database. Run the ASP Script Click the link on the status form to open the report list in the default web browser. Select the report to preview, and click 'Print/Preview'. Advertisement
